Rich and abundant water resources
Kahramanmaraş is one of the most abundant areas in terms of water potential in Turkey. Due to the abundance of water resources, Kahramanmaraş is referred as “City of Water”. Water potentials reflect nature, hosting endemic species in almost every color and perfect places to take unforgettable photos. Menzelet and Sır Dams contribute tourism sector as well as energy production. In 2010, offshore races arranged in Menzelet Dam Lake shows that dam lakes can also use for different purposes. Thermal waters are another value for Kahramanmaraş. Ilıca thermals, approximately 70 km from city center, has been chosen one of the special points of Turkey in thermal tourism.
